At Johan’s Joe, our bright, welcoming café transforms after hours into a flexible private event space in West Palm Beach for meetings, presentations, workshops, corporate gatherings and special celebrations. The tables can move. The chairs can move. Food and drinks can be arranged. And yes, there will always be coffee.
Whether you’re gathering colleagues around a table, hosting a presentation or planning an evening with friends and family, we’ll work with you to create a setup that makes sense for your event. Because Swedish hospitality has always been about making people feel welcome. We think that works just as well for a meeting of 20 as it does for a café full of coffee drinkers.

Johan’s Joe can accommodate a variety of gatherings, including business meetings, corporate events, presentations, workshops and training sessions, networking events, community and association gatherings, private dinners, receptions and special celebrations.
Depending on what you’re planning, we can help you configure the room in several ways.
Classroom Style
Tables and chairs face the presentation area, giving guests room for laptops, notebooks and materials. This configuration works especially well for workshops, training sessions and presentations.
U-Shaped Seating
For meetings where conversation matters, a U-shaped configuration keeps everyone engaged and provides a clear view of the presenter. It's a natural choice for board meetings and group discussions.
Auditorium Style
Need more seats and less table space? Auditorium-style seating creates a comfortable setting for speakers, seminars, presentations and other events where attention is focused toward the front of the room.

Your rental time should include the time you’ll need for both setup and breakdown. One Johan’s Joe staff member is included with the basic rental.

Food, Drinks & a Taste of Johan’s Joe
This is one advantage of holding an event at Johan’s Joe: nobody has to settle for forgettable meeting-room food! Johan’s Joe can provide small bites starting at $3.50 per bite, or you can choose a full buffet, generally ranging from $28–$45 per person.
We’ll help you choose an option that fits the style and size of your gathering, whether people need something to nibble on while they mingle or you’re planning a full meal.
Beer, Wine & Non-Alcoholic Beverages
Beer, wine and champagne can be arranged as a cash bar or pre-purchased by the host. Wines generally range from $40–$50 per bottle, and wine purchased by the case receives a 10% discount. You can take any unopened bottles you pre-purchased home after the event.
Drink tickets are another option at $13 per ticket, including soda, beer and wine choices. Fresh-made lemonade and non-alcoholic punches are also available. Because of our beverage license, you cannot bring outside beverages into Johan’s Joe, and we cannot serve hard liquor.
Food and beverage purchases are subject to an automatic gratuity.
Bringing in an Outside Caterer?
Outside caterers may be approved in advance. They must provide a Certificate of Insurance, and all food must arrive prepared and ready to serve because outside caterers do not have access to the Johan’s Joe kitchen.

Current rental rates are $250 per hour from December through May and $200 per hour from June through November. The basic rental includes one Johan’s Joe staff member. Additional staffing may be required depending on the number of guests.
How many guests can Johan’s Joe accommodate?
Our event information provides staffing requirements for gatherings of 20 to 75 guests. Because the ideal number can depend on your seating configuration and the type of event you’re planning, contact us with your estimated guest count and we’ll help determine the best setup for your group.
What seating arrangements are available?
The space can be configured in several ways, including classroom style, U-shaped seating and auditorium style. If you have something different in mind, talk to us. One of the advantages of our flexible meeting space in West Palm Beach is the ability to customize the room around the event.
